Joe's Diner was featured in a special on the Food Network. It is everything they said and more. It is a very small but comfortable restaurant. Joe's Diner was the inspiration for Norman Rockwell's "Runaway" painting.
This is a very fun place to go for breakfast or lunch. It isn't very big on the inside, so you have to be there at the right time to be sure to get a seat. It is pretty much your typical diner, with big portions and good food. It has a very warm atmosphere. It is open from very early to very late, but closes early (before dinner time) on Sundays. The prices are very reasonable and sometimes too good to be true.
If you are lucky, you will be there on a Sunday morning when a very precocious little girl comes to count her pennies and eat with her grandparents. The Berkshire Scenic Railroad crosses Center Street just west of the diner multiple times a day during the season and people leave their meals to run out to see it.
